A Darker Shade of Christmas

A Darker Shade of Christmas

I have been unapologetically in love with "A Christmas Carol" my whole life.  As a rule, I don't enjoy spooky tales, but during the holidays, I make this one exception.  I remember trying to memorize whole swaths of the story when I was a child and not really succeeding, but feeling better because I tried.  This piece demanded to be created as only some driven pieces can be. I wonder if a little part of me wanted to celebrate my affection for a little shadow in the season of light?

This piece is available for licensing.

"Old Marley was as dead as a doornail. Mind! I don't mean to say that, of my own knowledge, what there is particularly dead about a doornail. I might have been inclined, myself, to regard a coffin-nail as the deadest piece of ironmongery in the trade. But the wisdom of our ancestors is in the simile; and my unhallowed hands shall not disturb it, or the Country's done for. You will therefore permit me to repeat, emphatically, that Marley was as dead as a doornail."
